On Saturday I was at the British Heart Foundation London-Brighton. As people crossed the line, I was helping them stretch off. It ended up LEGGING it down all day. It was awful weather. So it was only at the beginning of the day that I actually helped people stretch off as everyone was then just fighting for shelter and warmth.
In the first 30 minutes though, it was really apparent just how tight most mountain bikers are, and how little stretching they do.
Flexibility is really important for mountain bikers.
You need it to move properly on the bike.
You need it to decrease the risk of injury.
You need it to increase the power you can create.
And importantly – you need it do decrease pain and just to feel better.
I’d really make an effort to stretch daily, or every other day.
Working on your flexibility, will really help you on the bike 🙂
